Who is responsible for your information
This website belongs to Leigh Canning Fitness, a personal training business based in North London. Leigh Canning is responsible for any personal information you choose to share. If you have a question about privacy, please email info@leighcanningfitness.com.
Information you may choose to provide
This website has an enquiry form. If you use it, you provide your name, email address, an optional phone number, your general area or postcode district and a short message. When you press Send enquiry, these details are delivered as an email to info@leighcanningfitness.com so I can reply to you. The website itself does not keep a database of submissions. There are no accounts, payments or mailing list signups on this website.
Please keep your message brief and avoid including detailed medical or health information. We can discuss anything relevant once we are in touch.
If you decide to get in touch using the WhatsApp or email links instead, you will be sending a message through your own WhatsApp or email account. In doing so you may share information such as your name, contact details and whatever you tell me about your training goals or circumstances.
How and why your information is used
Information shared in an enquiry or ongoing correspondence is used to:
- ·reply to your enquiry and answer your questions
- ·arrange, confirm and adjust training sessions
- ·keep the practical records a small business needs, such as scheduling and accounting information
Your details are not sold, and they are not used for advertising or added to a marketing mailing list.
Lawful basis
Where you contact me about training, information is handled in order to take steps at your request and, if you go on to train with me, to perform our agreement. Where I keep ordinary business correspondence and records, I rely on my legitimate interests in running and administering the business responsibly. Some records, such as those needed for accounting, are kept to meet legal obligations.
How long information is kept
Personal information is kept only for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes it is held for, including ongoing or prospective client relationships, business records and any applicable legal or accounting requirements. Correspondence that is no longer relevant is deleted in the normal course of managing my inbox and messages.
WhatsApp, email and other services
If you choose to message me on WhatsApp, your message is carried and stored by WhatsApp, which is part of Meta, under that service's own privacy terms. If you email me, your message passes through your email provider and mine. These providers handle your message as part of delivering their services, and I have no control over their systems.
Enquiry form submissions are sent using the website's email delivery service, provided through the website's hosting platform, which processes the details you enter in order to deliver them to my inbox. To help prevent abuse, your IP address is briefly checked to limit repeated submissions and is not stored.
This website is hosted by a third-party hosting provider, which processes standard technical information such as requests and IP addresses in order to serve pages securely. Typography is loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests the font files from Google when a page loads.
Information is not shared with anyone else except where I am required to do so by law.
Security
I take proportionate care with the information I hold, keeping it on password-protected devices and accounts and limiting access to what is needed to run the business. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed completely secure, but I aim to handle your information sensibly and respectfully.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights over your personal information, including the right to ask for a copy of it, to have inaccurate information corrected, to ask for it to be deleted or its use restricted, and to object to certain uses. To exercise any of these rights, email info@leighcanningfitness.com.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, please contact me first so I can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If the way this website or my business handles information changes, this page will be updated and the date above revised.
